Scan business cards

Photograph a card and it becomes a contact, filed under the event and linked to the firm.

On your phone

  1. On a floor open Cards and tap Scan a card. Or open a booth and tap Card to file it under that booth.
  2. Take the picture. Reading takes about ten seconds.
  3. Check the firm it was filed under.

The reader picks up the name, title, company, email, website, and both the office and the cell number when a card prints two.

If it read something wrong

On a laptop, open the event, open the card and choose Edit contact. Fix the name, title, email or phone and save. Editing a card is on the laptop; the phone shows the card as it was read.

If it linked to the wrong firm

Use Link to a different firm under the result and type the name. On a laptop, open the card and use Find the firm. If the firm is not registered in SAM the card still saves, tagged Not in SAM.

Away from a booth, or with no event

Scan a card on the Saved tab files a card with no event at all. A card scanned at a show but not at a booth is listed under Met at the show.

Scanning the same person twice within a day asks whether to keep both.

Card scanning comes with an Event Pass or Vantage.
