Getting around on a laptop

The home screen, the strip of icons down the left, and how results are laid out.

The strip on the left

• Home returns to the home screen from anywhere.
• Split view and Focus mode change how results are laid out. They appear once you have results.
• Saved firms (the star) opens your saved firms.
• Help opens this guide.
• Text size makes everything larger or smaller, from 100 to 125 percent.
• Light / dark theme.
• Your picture at the bottom opens Plans, Manage billing, Send feedback, Where the app opens, and Terms and data policy.
• Where the app opens is the tool the app lands on when you sign in, on every device. A new account is asked once; change it here any time. Home always returns to the front door.

When you have results

Results open with three tabs: Network, Map and Table. The map shows where the firms are, the table lets you sort and filter them, and the network shows how they are connected. Click any firm to open its research panel on the right.

Your plan and usage

The Your plan card at the bottom of the home screen shows what you have used this period and when it resets. Each line links to the tool it measures.
